Eligibility for Associate Orthopaedic Candidate Membership

To be eligible for AAOS Associate Orthopaedic Candidate Membership, you must meet the following requirements:

Internationally Trained Orthopaedic Surgeons

  • Available to graduates who received training through international residency programs outside the U.S. and Canada
  • Maintain a full unlimited license to practice in the U.S.
  • Compliance with the AAOS Standards of Professionalism

Your AAOS Membership runs January 1 – December 31. Membership is automatically billed every October for the upcoming Membership cycle. Associate Candidate Membership is held for a five-year maximum period following residency, including post-graduate fellowship(s).
